FFM is currently experiencing a high number of inquiries. We attempt to serve as many families as we can please be patient with us as we navigate through our waiting lists and screening submissions.
How long will it take for me to hear back?
How long will it take for me to become housed?
Is there something that I can be doing in the meantime?
Submitting the "start your journey" screening form WILL NOT increase your chances of getting services or a response faster. Please only fill out the form once. Once you have been connected with an intake, if you need additional assistance, please reach out to your case worker.
- Due to the high number of inquiries we receive daily, FFM follows a scheduling system. A member of our team will reach out via email within five business days to schedule an intake. If you are deemed ineligible for services at this time, a team member will reach out via email to let you know and to provide alternative resources in your area. If you have not hear back from us within five business day, feel free to give us a call.
- To qualify, you must have some type of justice involvement (that is a criminal and or arrest record) and live in Mecklenburg county.
How long will it take for me to become housed?
- FFM does not provide emergency housing or hotels.
- We do not own our own housing.
- Therefore, our housing advocacy services are limited and follow a triage system. We provide referrals for individuals who may qualify for other services through the Veteran's Administration, etc.
- We do have a waiting list currently for housing advocacy services due to a high volume of interests. Our triage system determines your place on this waiting list.
- Due to high demand, our housing services are currently limited. Housing a family can take anywhere from four months to over a year or more. Please contact 211 or the coordinated entry line at (980) 284-9665. This line will often send you straight to voicemail. Be sure to leave your full name and a good contact number and ask for a coordinated assessment. Someone will reach back out to you to schedule your assessment and begin services.
Is there something that I can be doing in the meantime?
- Apply for benefits on the EPASS website: https://epass.nc.gov/.
- If you are currently unhoused, complete a coordinated assessment.
- Continue to try and find employment, if unemployed.
- See what vital documents, if any, you have access to (birth certificate, IDs, etc.).
- Be on the lookout for our consent forms via email. Completing these in a timely manner is essential for expediting referrals once you have begun our program.
